HOW LONG DOES EACH PIERCING TAKE?
The piercing itself is rather quick, anywhere from 1-10 seconds. We then install the jewelry. Preparing for the piercing, choosing jewelry and going over aftercare can have your full appointment around 20-30 minutes total.
DO YOU PIERCE MINORS?
We pierce lobes starting at age 13 and all other cartilage piercings at age 16. The State of Florida requires that minors (under 18 years old) must provide a notarized and signed parental consent form. You can download that form HERE. The State of Florida also requires a PARENT BE PRESENT at the time of piercing for anyone under the age of 16. A valid form of identification will need to be provided (photo ID for parents, birth certificate or passport or state ID for minor).
HOW MANY PIERCINGS CAN I GET IN ONE SESSION?
We typically do not recommend more than 3 piercings in one session. Your body works hard to heal the piercings and the more you get in one sitting, the harder your body has to work. Once you are healed, come back in for your next! We can also map out your ear in a styling session and get you scheduled for multiple sessions.
DO YOU USE A PIERCING GUN?
No way! We use single-use hollow needles. Piercing guns are not nearly as accurate and precise as a hollow needle. Hollow, single-use needles are more sanitary and cause less trauma to the skin, providing a faster and more safe healing process.
DOES GETTING PIERCED HURT?
Pain can be different for everyone. However, there is typically a quick-passing discomfort with piercings. We do our best to provide a comfortable and peaceful environment with aromatherapy and breath work beforehand. If you are concerned about the level of pain, consult with your piercer on your options.
WHAT IS A PIERCING CHECK-UP?
After about 6 weeks, we recommend coming in to see how the healing process is going. At this point, we may downsize your jewelry to a smaller bar if you were pierced with a stud. We can also upgrade your jewelry at this time.
WHAT IS A PIERCING STYLING SESSION?
Styling sessions may or may not include getting pierced. You can schedule a styling session to choose new jewelry for pre-existing piercings - we can then do a jewelry change-out or you can purchase and take them home with you. You make choose to add-on a new piercing during the styling session, and that is okay too! It is dedicated time to try out new jewelry combinations!
WHEN CAN I CHANGE MY JEWELRY?
Everyone heals in different timelines. If you come in for a 6-week checkup, we can take a look at your piercing and then decide if changing out is a possibility. It is best to consult with your piercer and follow the healing time guide on our piercing page.
WHAT KIND OF JEWELRY DO YOU PIERCE WITH?
All of our jewelry is either Implant Grade Titanium or 14K Solid Gold - both are hypoallergenic and great for sensitive skin. The Implant Grade Titanium is available in both silver and gold finish, although we do carry a lot more of the gold finish than silver.
